Kaya Darkling, the sorcerer’s daughter, becomes a capricious and unexpected friend, helping Jewel in some of these dangerous events. Jewel must endure many torments, always with the eternal wish, there’s no place like home but must face her fears and grow up.

          Just when Jewel was resigned to unavoidable tragedy, the unexpected happens! She’s involved in a love triangle between Darwin Morton, a friend she’d known most of her life and Eric Broder, a worldly and influential high school soccer team leader.
